The Parish Church of Safara, dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption, began construction in 1500 and was completed in 1602. It features a design typical of 16th-century Alentejo churches, with a longitudinal layout and striking vertical volumes supported externally by buttresses along the side façades. The main portal stands out for its Mannerist style, adding an elegant and historic touch to the church’s overall architecture.
