The Parish Church of São Marcos do Campo stands prominently in the centre of the village, at the top of a staircase, featuring a striking façade. In front of the church is a 19th-century obelisk with a pyramidal shaft topped by an iron cross, emphasizing the sacredness of the space.
Historically, the church belonged to the Order of Christ and is documented as early as 1534. It underwent renovations in the 17th, 18th, and 20th centuries.
