The Parish Church of Barrancos (also known as Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Conceição) was built in 1725 over a previous temple and underwent remodeling in 1747. Its architecture resembles that of a traditional Spanish chapel.
Inside, the church is notable for the altar of Nossa Senhora das Dores, which predates 1747 and reflects Baroque influences. It is believed that this altar came from the dismantling of the Church of Nossa Senhora do Desterro in Noudar.
