The Municipal Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography of Barrancos is housed in a 19th-century manor house, carefully adapted and restored while preserving its original architectural layout.
The museum consists of three rooms: two for permanent exhibitions and one for temporary exhibitions. The main archaeology room displays artifacts ranging from the Paleolithic period to the 18th century. The second permanent exhibition room features a reconstruction of the former Municipal Medical Office (late 19th to mid-20th century), showcasing furniture and instruments from various medical fields that were once used by Barrancos’ municipal doctors.
