Museu Etnográfico de Serpa (Serpa Ethnographic Museum)

The Serpa Ethnographic Museum, inaugurated in 1987, is housed in the building of the former municipal market, a late 19th-century structure that was restored and renovated by the atelier of architect A. Saldanha. The museum features a permanent exhibition called “Ofícios da Terra” (“Trades of the Land”), which highlights the diversity of local occupations and crafts essential to everyday life, as well as the traditional technical and technological knowledge linked to artisanal activities.
