Museu da Freguesia, Portel

The Parish Museum of Portel opened to the public in 2010. It displays a wide variety of objects generously donated by local artisans and residents of the municipality.

The museum displays around 300 pieces made from wood, fabric, cork, and other materials. This public space was created to showcase the numerous items donated to the municipality, which had been overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of objects. To share these small treasures, the museum exhibits them for curious visitors and travelers who come to Portel.

The pieces on display showcase the traditional craftsmanship of the region, some of which are now true antiques. Though many years have passed, these objects have been preserved in excellent condition, maintaining their original charm.
