Mouraria, a neighborhood with Muslim origins, reflects the settlement that took place during the 13th century. It is home to the oldest building in the Iberian Peninsula constructed by the Moors.
The Mouraria district is made up of three streets, a small alley, and a square. The houses, all painted in white, feature distinct Arab architectural elements. The neighborhood has a unique charm, with narrow, closely packed streets that create a strong sense of urban unity.
Here you can also visit the Arab Museum, located in the house where an ancient Arab well was discovered. The site has been classified as a Property of Public Interest since 1993.
