The Mourão picnic park is located about 2 km from Mourão on a peninsula surrounded by the Alqueva reservoir. It is the largest picnic park in the region with several groups of tables and barbecues. It has a wooden viewpoint from which you can enjoy a beautiful view over the Alqueva reservoir and the village of Mourão. It also has a car park.

Next to the picnic park is Mourão river beach.

How to get here:

Leave Mourão heading towards Póvoa de São Miguel. At the first roundabout, turn right towards the ‘albufeira’ (reservoir). At the next roundabout, turn left onto the road leading to the dam. Before reaching the pier, turn left and follow the dirt road until you reach the picnic area.
