The Church of Nossa Senhora da Lagoa, built in the Renaissance style, dates back to the 16th century and replaced the earlier Gothic church, which had been affected by the plague.
The marble tomb chest, crafted by Gomes Martins Silvestre, depicts a funeral procession of 17 figures. At the center of the pediment, on the tile panel, is an image of the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception.
The façade features two square towers and a false portico with three blind arches.
