Herdade do Esporão

Herdade do Esporão, located near Reguengos de Monsaraz, is well known for its wines and is a must-see for anyone visiting this region of Alentejo. With around 700 hectares of vineyards, olive groves and other crops, it offers unique conditions for agriculture.

Various activities are available, such as visits to wine cellars and wine tastings, visits to olive oil mills with olive oil tastings, walks and picnics. At the Herdade do Esporão Restaurant, enjoy meals prepared with seasonal produce from local and national producers, with a special highlight being the tasting menu accompanied by selected wines.

The estate is home to heritage sites of great historical value, such as the Torre do Esporão tower. Built in the 15th century, it is one of the most important towers built during the transition from the Middle Ages to the Modern Age. It was restored between 2000 and 2003, and since 2004 it has housed an archaeological exhibition. Next to the tower you will also find the Chapel of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios and the Arco do Esporão.
