Nothing remains of the original church, which probably dated back to the 13th century. The current church is the result of a reconstruction carried out during the 18th century and the early 19th century.
The interior is laid out in a Latin cross plan, featuring a deep main chapel, a nave with side chapels, and blind arches. The various sections are covered with barrel vaults.
