The Church of Mercy, dating back to 1630, is a 17th-century construction from the reign of King João IV. It was built on the site of the former Hermitage of Saint Romão, which was demolished at the end of the 14th century, giving rise to the current church.
The façade is simply designed, featuring two pilasters at the corners, a cornice, and two pyramidal pinnacles. The main portal is made of stonework in straight lines, topped by a large window.
Inside, the nave extends through to the main chapel, covered by a barrel vault. The interior houses two important images: Saint Lawrence and Saint Anthony.
