Horta da Coutada is located at the foot of the hillside leading up to the Castle of Monsaraz.
Since the 18th century, the estate supported the nearby Convento da Orada, benefiting from its fertile lands and water supplied by a traditional waterwheel (nora), which still remains on the property. It was also a place where monks would rest during their daily siestas.
Blending elegant modern lines with rustic charm, Horta da Coutada offers rooms, suites, and apartments. Guests can relax by the swimming pool and enjoy breakfast featuring regional Alentejo products such as cheeses, cured meats, and organic produce from the garden.
Located next to the Convento da Orada and Xerez Cromlech, close to the Alqueva Lake Observatory and with the Monsaraz river beach about 1 kilometer away, it is an excellent place to stay in Monsaraz.
