Noudar Nature Park is located in Barrancos, in the heart of Alentejo, right on the border with Spain. It was established following EDIA’s acquisition of Herdade da Coitadinha, as compensation for habitats lost during the construction of the Alqueva Dam.

Monte da Coitadinha sits at the center of the park. From here, you can explore on foot, by bicycle, or in a NouCar – small electric off-road vehicles – and discover the park’s many trails and paths. The park’s natural beauty is truly unique: an almost untouched landscape, remote and pristine, where flora and fauna thrive freely.

Visit Noudar Castle, perched on a hill with breathtaking views over the Ardila River and the Múrtega stream, which mark the park’s northern and southern boundaries. Notice how the river’s curves shape the landscape, and how peace and quiet fill this serene place.

At Monte da Coitadinha, relax at your leisure, take a refreshing dip in the pool, and enjoy meals at the restaurant prepared with local ingredients. Children can enjoy a variety of activities, either with the family or at the holiday camp. At night, marvel at the night sky and observe the stars through a telescope.

Tip: The best times to visit the park are spring and autumn, when temperatures are milder and more pleasant.
